More about Invisalign
The treatment can last approximately 9 - 15 months, while the number of trays you use may be around 18 - 30. How long your treatment will take depends on your initial examination and the treatment plan that you and your dentist agree upon when you visit one of our offices in Fairfield, Westport, Darien, and New Canaan.
Invisalign treatment consists of patients wearing clear plastic aligner trays that are made using 3-D computer imaging technology. The plastic aligners are also transparent and shift the teeth into place by applying pressure on each of them until they are straight or in the desired position.
Each set of trays needs to be worn for at least 22 hours a day. You can remove them to brush and floss your teeth, eat and drink, or to attend a special event, but just remember—the longer they are not worn, the longer treatment will be delayed.
During Invisalign treatment, you will need to see your doctor once every six weeks. At these visits, your dentist will make sure that your teeth are being straightened according to the plan and will assess if any changes need to be made.
Invisalign is discreet, comfortable, and removable. If you need your teeth straightened and would like to avoid traditional metal braces, then you need to contact your dentist, Dr. Joseph Worthington. He will help determine if you are a good candidate for Invisalign treatment and get you started on the right path.
