Veneers Westport CT | Dentist Fairfield CTVeneers In Fairfield, CT

Porcelain veneers are designed to improve the appearance of the teeth by concealing discoloration or
damage. Cracks, chips, stains, discoloration, and even tooth misalignment can all be addressed with
porcelain veneers. Patients who have severe or permanent discoloration may ultimately benefit from
concealment with porcelain veneers. Since veneers are custom-made for each patient, the results can
look both beautiful and natural.

At Worthington Advanced Dentistry, Dr. Worthington uses feldspathic porcelain and custom E-Max with
feldspathic porcelain, which is a beautiful glassy material. Feldspathic porcelain has the optical
characteristics that most closely match natural teeth. The custom craftsmanship in layering and building
feldspathic ceramic produces a natural vibrant appearance which helps create the most natural and
lifelike restoration.

Veneer Treatment at Worthington Advanced Dentistry

Preparing and placing your porcelain veneers typically requires two visits to Worthington Advanced
Dentistry after your consultation. The first is to “prepare” your teeth for the veneers. Because they
should sit flush on your teeth, Dr. Worthington will remove a small portion of dental enamel—typically
less than a millimeter.

After your teeth are prepared, Dr. Worthington will take a dental impression. This imprint is used to
ensure the veneers are a perfect fit. This mold will also be used to create a mask, if needed, to plan the
result where significant changes are being made to the shape or size of teeth. The impression is then
sent out to a lab for the porcelain veneers to be made. Temporary veneers are used until the permanent
veneers come back from the lab.

Once the veneer is ready, adhering the veneer to the teeth is a precise art. Dr. Worthington will
thoroughly clean your teeth and use an acid to roughen the surface of both the tooth and the veneer. A
strong dental adhesive is then used to secure the veneers in place.

Veneer Care and Maintenance

Caring for porcelain veneers is to treat them as you would your natural teeth. This entails flossing at
least once a day, usually before going to bed, and brushing your teeth twice daily. Use a soft bristled
toothbrush and non-abrasive toothpaste. Veneers are durable, but still susceptible to damage if they are
not properly cared for.

If you’ve received porcelain veneers from a dental professional, you will likely have great-looking teeth.
However, problems can be present beneath the shiny, white surface. Sometimes, there can be issues
with your veneers that—when left untreated—can lead to extensive damage. Visit our Fairfield dental
office regularly, at least three to four times a year, to keep on top of your oral health.

Dr. Worthington will always work with you until you are satisfied; his commitment to you, your smile,
and overall oral health are his number-one priorities. With almost four decades of experience, Dr.
Worthington has performed amazing dental transformations and can fix virtually any dental problem.
“The entire experience of restoring my smile has been amazing. From the first appointment to the

from a person who avoided the dentist for decades. I would recommend them to anyone considering
cosmetic dentistry.” – J. Cotter
